BREAST SURGERIES

nipple hypertrophy
We refer to hypertrophic nipples either prominent, when they feel very large and projected. It can be related to a small areola, or it can be due to an alteration in the development of the breasts, the most common, or as a consequence of breastfeeding. We can find nipples that are too long, hanging or even folded on themselves and that in some cases can cause pain and injuries but, above all, can affect the intimate life of the patient.
One of the most common cases occurs as aftermath of pregnancy, after completing lactation. We can return the nipple to its normal size with plastic surgery techniques that preserve sensitivity and the ability to breastfeed in the future.
The operation is performed through an incision at the lower base of the nipple, removing part of it. The scar is negligible and is hidden by the nipple itself and its dark color. The results are immediate and permanent, although in the first days the patient will notice a slight inflammation. In these cases it is advisable to sunbathe, in order to pigment the scar, and thus acquire the same color as the rest of the nipple.
