Salicylic acid peel

The  salicylic acid peel  is a superficial chemical peel that contains a solution of salicylic acid, a compound related to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), buffered at an optimal pH. This peel is  very effective and safe,  and produces a  gentle and superficial exfoliation  of the skin.

Its application stimulates  renewal of the skin, by removing all dead cells and impurities from it. With this, it helps to smooth fine wrinkles, improve skin color, reduce acne scars and the damage caused by ultraviolet rays and environmental factors (cold, heat, pollution) on the skin, providing a smoother skin. clean, radiant, smooth, firmer, free of impurities and younger looking.

Who is it indicated for?

Salicylic Acid Peeling is especially indicated for acne-prone or oily skin, although it can be performed on patients with  all skin types.

Please consult with your doctor regarding the improvements you can expect based on your current skin condition. Some patients may be at increased risk of adverse reactions and should seek the advice of their physician before receiving treatment.

How is this treatment performed?

First there will be a  skin cleansing  to remove all sebum and cell debris from the surface. Once the skin is clean, the product is applied. The application process takes approximately  Come in  30 seconds  and one minute. One minute after application, you may feel a slight stinging and burning sensation. This discomfort will increase as the salicylic acid penetrates your skin and begins to stimulate renewal. The discomfort will reach its maximum level two to three minutes after application, and then decrease rapidly and abruptly.

It is possible that the burning sensation reappears at the time of removing the product. After the peeling, the skin will feel slightly tight, but very smooth and soft. You may also feel a slight superficial anesthetic when touched lightly (numbing sensation). In any case, all these slight discomforts spontaneously disappear between 15-30 minutes later.

In the week following the application, the skin will undergo a process of  cell renewal  which will result in an exfoliation (removal of scales) that can be negligible, light or moderate, depending on the type of skin and the condition being treated. In other words, your doctor can apply the peel very softly (light), with hardly any peeling, or make it stronger so that the skin peels or flakes moderately.

When desquamation is induced, it is a consequence of the elimination of the outermost layer of the skin, made up of dead cells. Peeling will be visible two to four days after treatment. In some patients, redness of the treated skin may occur, accompanied by burning or itching, which indicates a slight irritation of the skin, which should not cause concern, since it will disappear spontaneously after a few days (3-7 days).
