Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a biological, autologous, non-toxic and non-allergenic product. It is obtained by centrifugation of the blood, arranging its components - red blood cells, leukocytes, platelets, proteins - in different fractions according to their density gradient.
The therapeutic applications of PRP are very diverse, for years it has been used in surgery as a coagulant, sealant and compacting agent for bone grafts. In recent times, new therapies based on the pro-regenerative and anti-inflammatory potential of the "growth factors" that platelets release when coagulation is activated have been suggested.
The effectiveness of PRP depends largely on the methods followed in its preparation and application.
